Hello World! Welcome Friends! So, you’ve worked hard and gained your well-deserved massage therapy qualifications? Maybe you’ve studied aromatherapy, reflexology or sports massage? But, what now?
Could your junk filled spare bedroom become your brand new shiny therapy room? Read my tips on how to create the ultimate serene massage space in your home, and where to find the best massage table for sale.
How To Create The Perfect Massage Room In Your Home
Firstly, you’ll have to investigate the legalities of running a business from your home, and work out whether it is viable with your family commitments, financial arrangements and so on, but if that all looks good, what next?
The this-seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-first dumping of junk. Clearing out your spare room will give you a massive sense of proactive progression, just as long as you realize that you’re clearing out junk, and not moving it to another room in your house.
Decorate in neutral tones and cool relaxing colors. If possible, the flooring should be either natural wood, or tiles, which will need to be kept as clean and hygienic as possible. For the walls, a plain color, such as bamboo, or a warm white would be perfect.
The lighting needs to be muted, and diffused, nothing too glaring, but it’s worth investing in an unobtrusive lamp for your desk so that you can see to write up notes, and so on.
Furnishings must be carefully thought out; it would be easy to go overboard and fill up every inch of space, so everything needs to serve a purpose. Natural materials could be used wherever possible – a lovely, well made sanded wooden desk, with drawers would look gorgeous, and bare wood shelves for fluffy piles of clean towels, or aromatherapy oils in blue glass bottles would give a soft, but professional touch. All you need then are a couple of chairs, and a massage table. It’s always a good idea to do research before you buy, so make a visit to our friends at WeHeartNails.com for the latest reviews on the hottest products.
With regards to massage tables, there’s a huge variety on the market, from lightweight portable models, to luxurious tables that you could almost use as your spare bed. With removable face holes, and extensions for arms, there’s something for everyone. Other important items include soft, fluffy towels and of course a selection of organic essential oils. Lavender, sandalwood, eucalyptus….the choice is yours!
Once you’ve got your salon exactly as you want it, sit back, relax and wait for those clients to start pouring in (you did remember to advertise, didn’t you?)
