Hello World! Welcome Friends! The temperatures have finally cooled down here in the Houston area which really makes me want to decorate and try out new Fall recipes! So, we can officially say that Fall has arrived. While finishing up the Entry Hall (I promise that tour is not far off), I’ve been fluffing our nest to make it a bit more cozier for Fall. With the cooler temperatures I’m finding I want more texture and soft, comfy throws and pillows. Today I’m sharing Cozy Fall Decor Incorporating Blue & White.
Let’s start with the star of the Family Room, the massive fireplace and mantel.
The one thing visitors comment on when entering the Family Room is the beautiful fireplace and mantel. The stonework goes all the way to the ceiling and will definitely need a huge mirror some day to fill the space. I will not be painting the Family Room since the ceiling is 25 feet. The highest I have gone is 15 feet. This project will be hired out in 2020 after the holiday decor has been taken down. The majority of the decor in the above picture is decor that I had on hand. However, I did add some new Blue & White pieces that I found at Ross as well as those cute gold pompom flowers which I found at Hobby Lobby.
The wreath form came from At Home and I used what I had on hand to spruce her up a bit along with the cute gold pompom flowers.
As you can tell in the above picture, the mantel is pretty rustic and not finished. I generally don’t go for rustic, being a traditional glam gal, but this piece is so big and beautiful, I may just have to keep her!
I love the variety of Blue & White vases on the mantel. The two vases on either side of the center vase are the only two that are an exact match.
If you are ever in Ross, head back to the Home Decor section to see if they have any Blue & White pieces. They usually have a good selection at excellent prices.
On the hearth sit Blue and White ginger jars next to the cutest wood pumpkin I found at At Home.
I have moved this pumpkin all over the house and she looked great where ever I set her. But, she eventually landed on the hearth next to the pear and wheat that were in my current Fall Decor stash.
The basket I have had for years. I believe it either came from Home Goods or Hobby Lobby. Usually it has throws in it or cat toys, but I decided to throw a bunch of flowers in it. You’ll notice that in the above shot there is a cat-tailish bunch that doesn’t appear in the rest of the pictures. I had to take that little bunch out because Misty, our cat kept playing and chewing on them. She was probably wondering where her cat toys were.
This cute, plaid blue and green pillow came from Home Goods. I have another one that is on the leather couch, but I neglected to get a shot of it.
Everything on the coffee table came with us in the move except for the new pretty, blue and white piece. The yellow and white pillows on the couch and the throw came from Home Goods. That throw is so incredibly soft, that there have been little battles over it when we watch a show together in the Family Room.
This spot is little Cozi’s gazing out the window spot. She can sit here for hours watching the wildlife on the water behind the house.
Opposite the windows sit two chairs with this table in between. The blue Fall piece and the candle were At Home finds. With my new color scheme for this house…blue, white, and green…I’m looking for some chinoiserie paper to wrap my books with that have mainly blue and green and maybe just a touch of pink.
This beautiful pillow came from At Home. I purchased two of them to go on the cream colored chairs.
The blue looks lighter in this picture due to a shaft of sunlight that came in the windows above the entertainment center. But, you get the idea. They are truly gorgeous pillows.
That’s it for this portion of the Fall Decor. Next week I will be sharing our simple front porch and Fall in the Entry Hall. But, first I need to shop for a new Christmas tree. We pitched the 14ft. tree last year after Christmas since it was pretty worn out and shabby.
I hope you have enjoyed our little Cozy Fall Decor!
