Hello World! Welcome Friends! Imagine for a moment that you have the opportunity to redecorate your entire home. Perhaps a television show focusing on interior design makeovers has offered to do a complete makeover for you. You don’t have to worry about time, money, or help. Everything will be taken care of for you. All you have to do is decide how you want your rooms to look beautiful, lovely, and inspiring.
Naturally, this open-ended approach to creative thinking about home decorating can be a little overwhelming. What would you do? Where would you start? What types of furniture, accents, lighting, floor covers, window hangings, and so on would you get for each room?
Start with big-picture thinking. Decide on a style that will create a wonderful uniformity. You need a theme that reflects your good taste and personality. The show’s producer suggests that you choose a popular style like Modern, Contemporary, Minimalist, Industrial, Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, Traditional, or Transitional.
Assuming you’ve picked your style, here are some suggestions on how you could decorate each room:
Designing Your Bedroom
Your bedroom is your place of rest. You spend more than 8 hours of your 24-hour day here. So, choose your bed carefully. Think about what you would buy if you were to walk into a Bedding Mart March Madness Sale. Besides choosing a high-quality mattress, choose your pillows and bedding well, too. Then consider furniture. What furniture do you need? Nightstands? A walk-in closet? A dresser? Mirrors? Rugs? Next, decide on your choice of color. If you’re an early riser, choose lighter colors. If you like to sleep in, then choose darker colors. Finally, your lighting should also reflect your sleeping habits and lifestyle. If, for instance, it’s dark when you wake up in the early hours of the morning, you’ll need plenty of light to get dressed for the day.
Designing Your Children’s Bedrooms
When it comes to your children’s rooms be wildly creative. Look for ideas that reflect your son or daughter’s personality. What are they interested in? Can you build a theme around it?
Designing Your Bathroom
If you have a small bathroom, then you’ll look for ways to make it look larger, minimizing how much stuff you have in it to create a sense of spaciousness. Conversely, if you have a large bathroom, then you can be extravagant when it comes to choosing cabinets, sinks, mirrors, and accessories. Color and lighting will play a large part in the mood you want to inspire.
Designing Your Living Room
Your living room serves many uses. It’s a parlor where your whole family gathers. A study where your kids catch up on their homework. An entertainment center where you can catch up on the big games or watch your favorite sitcoms with a couch, recliner armchairs, and a big TV. It’s a place to socialize when you throw a small party. It’s a play center where you bring out the board games after a Thanksgiving Dinner. Deciding on the furnishings and lighting and décor of your living will depend on the way you use this room. Decide on a focal point and arrange the furniture to encourage animated conversations between people. First, decide on the function that the living room serves for your family, then decide on furniture, accessories, art, area rugs, and lighting
Designing Your Dining Room
The focal point of your dining room is the dining room table. So, consider the type of table you would like and the number and type of chairs that work well with the table. The next big thing is lighting. A chandelier will set the tone when it comes to meals. Also, consider accents, like tableware, drapes, and curtains.
Designing Your Kitchen
The kitchen will be the hardest room to remodel. You have so many choices available. Ultimately your decorating theme for the house will play a huge role in how you design your kitchen. One thing you’ll have to consider is size. This will limit your choices. The more space you have, the more choices will be available. For instance, in a small kitchen, a kitchen island table makes space feel cramped. But in a large kitchen, it works perfectly. Another thing you’ll have to keep in mind is functionality. If you love to cook, then you want to find ways to make it easier to perform things efficiently from prepping to cooking to cleaning. If you just use the kitchen to heat up food and prepare basic meals, then your choices will be different.
Although you may not have a TV producer writing a check for your home makeover, you can still use this exercise in creative thinking to redecorate each room just the way you like it.

I used some of the same ideas in my bathroom. I used a removable wallpaper to remodel the space and it turned out great.
