Hello World! Welcome Friends! Keeping a clean home can increase your happiness, according to studies. 80% of people say that a clean house helps them to relax while 60% say they feel less stress when their home is gleaming. A recent study revealed that the average American spends just under 6 hours per week cleaning their home. This may sound like a lot, but it doesn’t give you much time to clean more than the basics. As a result, there’s sure to be lots of dirt and germs lurking in some unsightly places. So, let’s take a look at the most common places people forget to clean so you can tackle them as soon as possible.
High Surfaces
The tops of kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, and display units are often forgotten about when cleaning. They shouldn’t be left, though, as they can be covered in layers of grease and dust. When you’re cooking, grease particles get into the air and stick to the tops of kitchen cabinets. This grease will then attract bugs and pests, including cockroaches. As the tops of your cabinets aren’t easy to get to, they’ll accumulate dust. Dust means dust mites which can be harmful to your respiratory health. Cleaning the top of cabinets is something you should do every 3 months. Dust can be removed with a damp microfiber cloth. Greasy surfaces can be cleaned with a baking soda, lemon juice, and warm water mix.
The Oven
Food spillages are common in ovens. It’s best to give your oven a quick wipe down after every use to keep it spick and span. But most people don’t do this. Leaving dirt to build up in your oven can cause excess smoke when cooking and it can prevent the oven from heating up properly. Ideally, your oven should be deep cleaned every 3 months with a paste made from baking soda and vinegar. If you don’t have the time for this, you could hire a professional maid from your local area to do it for you. You’ll find these in places, such as Austin, Seattle, and Miami. Professional cleaners can deep clean a home as and when required. Or, they can regularly visit your property to keep your oven and other parts of your home clean.
Door Handles
Researchers have found that there are typically 3,000 bacteria on the average person’s hand. Every time you, or someone you live with, touches a door handle or cabinet handle in your home, bacteria is transferred onto them. This bacteria could make you and your family sick, so you should clean these parts of your home regularly. Aim to disinfect all handles at least once per week. When there’s an illness in your home, wiping handles once per day is essential.
Dusting, cleaning, and mopping are three of the most common household cleaning tasks carried out. But there are a lot more areas around your home that you should focus on. Make sure you clean them all by thinking outside of the box when you do your next clean.
