Hello World! Welcome Friends! Are you familiar with color psychology? According to leading color experts, you should be if you’re looking to redecorate your property. There are certain colors that are believed to influence our emotions in different ways. Some shades are said to incite feelings of calm and relaxation, whilst others are known to cause feelings like irritability. When it comes to decorating the home, it’s worth keeping these rules in mind. But what are the best and worst colors to use depending on the kind of atmosphere you hope to achieve in your home?
One of the biggest interior trends that continues to remain strong is minimalism. This trend focuses on neutral color schemes and minimal decor for a fuss-free feel in the home. While this trend isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, the type of colors used can tend to have a big impact in relation to color psychology theories. White, for instance, can create feelings of purity, clarity, and sophistication. This makes white a good color to use in the home if you’re hoping to create an open and fuss-free space. Neutral shades like white are commonly used by property company’s like RW Invest, as they attract a wider range of buyers or tenants. Another popular neutral shade is grey, which promotes a sense of sophistication. While this color can work well for a minimal aesthetic, however, you may want to steer clear of using grey too much. In abundance, grey is associated with depression, moodiness and dull emotions, so it’s a good idea to use this shade with caution.
For those who prefer to use more color in their home, there are a range of bright shades that also have positive impacts on people’s mood and emotions. Shades like yellow and orange are linked to feelings of creativity, energy and fun. This makes these colors great options to use in rooms that you need an extra pick me up. This could be the bathroom or kitchen, which are often some of the spaces you spend most time in during the mornings. Alternatively, these shades could work well in a home office, especially if you need some help brainstorming new ideas.
Perhaps the most important room to consider the effects of color psychology is the bedroom. This is the area you use to unwind and get some rest, so look for shades that promote a calming atmosphere. Some colous which could create a relaxing mood are blue or green. Blue is often voted the best bedroom color to promote a good night’s sleep and has been scientifically proven to lower your blood pressure and heart rate. According to a study by Travel Lodge, bedrooms painted green have helped people get an average of 7 hours and 36 minutes sleep a night. On the other hand, a number of colors reportedly have a negative effect on sleep quality. Some of the worst offenders for this include red and purple, which are both considered too mentally stimulating for use in the bedroom.
