Hello World! Welcome Friends! It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post. Bad blogger! I have been busy trying to organize future posts so I can post on a schedule…imagine that. Also, Christmas has exploded at our house. First up is The Christmas Mantel. Let’s get started.

Everything I used to decorate the mantel I had on hand.
The Santa is a Jim Shore. The clock was given to me last Christmas from my Mother-in-law!
Snowman stocking holder I purchased years ago at Hallmark. The little tree in the back was purchased last year from Michael’s.
Love the details on this Santa stocking holder.

Must have a somewhat manly stocking holder for the man of the house. This sucker is heavy.
More trees from Michael’s.
Cute nutcracker hiding behind a poinsettia leaf.
All of the stockings were made by my mother, aka Betty Lou. My husband requested bells on his stocking. I think she likes to spoil him a bit.

The wee one’s stocking.
And, of course, my stocking. She made this years ago. Just an FYI, my family calls me Kathy. They refuse to call me Kathryn even though it is my given name…I come from a stubborn line. lol

Here’s a closeup of the fabric she used for my stocking.

Here’s the fabric she used on our daughter’s stocking. Isn’t it cute?
Appropriate manly fabric. I think my Mom should open an Etsy shop. What do you think?

Before you go, one last shot of the wee one being silly with a wreath I made…of course with the help of my Mother.

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? Can’t wait to see what everyone has up in blogland. That’s it for today. Be sure to check back soon. I will be sharing some exciting news about my voice studio. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it.

Beautiful mantle! Love all the glitz! One idea: I always stuff our stockings with plastic grocery bags til we fill them so they hang nicely. Your Mother is very talented, yes, she should open an Etsy shop! XO, Pinky

Hello Kathryn,
Your mantel is very, very festive! Just love all the touches you put and the care you placed in making your husband's 'manly'! Terrific! Everything looks wonderful – thank you for sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
God Bless,
Kathy
Traveling by 4's from Liz's Time Travel Thursday. 4's b/c my link is #74. The close up photos really show the mantle off – in ways you can't see from a distance. Lovely! I love the tall santa and snowman. I know that artist name on the santa – just can't remember it – saw his stuff at Hallmark several years ago. Love them. Just where oh where would I put something else! Enjoyed my visit! Thanks, Jenn (who goes by a variety of insisted versions of my name!) (Yes, etsy.)
And so, I asked my husband if he had an email I'd sent him several days back on this cornucopia I'd seen on a blog. And, I'm sitting here waiting for him to get to his computer to check if he still has it (I as hinting on the cornucopia and on a nativity angel) so I could get the name of the artist. I was looking around your blog, landed on your about page and laughed. You're the one who had the Jim Shore item featured before. No wonder your blog looked familiar! Well, I've joined it but lately when I join, I don't see my icon show up – so if you don't see a side profile of a little black & white dog (very close up photo) in your followers, then I need to try again.
LOVE your cheerful, fun, festive, and colorful mantel!! Thanks for sharing!!
Lovely decorations. Thanks for linking to Things I've Done Thursday!
