Hello World! Welcome Friends! Today I’m sharing my home office decorated for Christmas. As most of my readers know I have been in the process of giving my home office a makeover. The full reveal will hopefully happen sometime in January. The furniture is in, however I am now waiting on a rug and the drapery hardware. And, truth be told, I want to order a couple of new chairs for the space. But in the meantime, I couldn’t let the season get by without putting up a Christmas tree.
That is as close to a sneak peek as you’re going to get on the furniture. The chairs I want to order would go flank the tower giving me some extra seating for visitors. Okay, back to Christmas decor. I’ve had this tree for years; since we lived in the Colonial house. Remember that home? Click HERE to check out this tree in our Colonial living area.
I usually decorate this tree with gold and cream ornaments, but this year I wanted to go in a different direction. Since the walls are deep shade of blue and the trim is dark, I opted for more jewel tones.
The rich colors play nicely against the moody background. If you have a tree that is looking a little sparse, be sure to add decorative picks. I also like to use ribbon, but this tree is not the easiest to decorate and doesn’t hold ribbon well. It’s like sticking your hand into a prickly pinecone. I should wear gloves when I decorate it.
Of course, I had to have some blue and white. These pretty jars are hiding the light cord, which I hate to see. I love how the tree looks next to the stained wood.
Here’s another sneak peek. This is the top of my new desk. I love to add ornaments, pine cones and little pretties into a clear vase.
The blue crystal vase holds my change and sits next to a gold desk lamp which I purchased years ago at Home Goods.
How do you like my bookends? They used to be a dingy pewter color, but with a quick spray paint, they have been brought back to life. The green vase was a Goodwill find and the little container came to me via my Mom when she was purging some items in her stash of decor. I think she is just the perfect little container.
Since we like to put up a few trees, we have taken to mixing glass and plastic ornaments to help with the expense.
I have artwork coming from my niece which will flank this tower above the two chairs I need to shop for. In addition, I would like to get a new chair for the piano. The piano bench is completely broken beyond repair and in its place, we have an old Pottery Barn chair that I would like to sell. It’s more of a Farmhouse style and just doesn’t mix well with her Traditional and Transitional cousins.
Thank you for stopping by for Part 1 of our Christmas Home Tour. Next on the tour will be the Family Room with some vignettes that are scattered through the house.

Love the paint color and how your tree is decorated! The chinoiserie jars on the floor not only look chic but now knowing what I know about covering the cord? Well, that’s brilliant.
