Of course LED strip light should not be too dim and too high. If you are using the strip light for decorating purpose for example, in the kitchen cabinets or over the corner of the kitchen shelves then the brightness should be from low to medium. Because you don’t want to brighten up the whole area which doesn’t suit your eyes.

Low Brightness:
Low brightness of LED strip lights mostly used to decorate the area and to give definition to specific area. The strip of 60 LED 3528, which gives 400 lumens per meter, is used as low brightness strip light to lighten up the enclosed space for decorating purposes.

You can install the strip light with this brightness over the kitchen shelves under the corner of cabinets. This brightness gives enough illumination to the area and to even lighten up the whole area which suits your eyes. 30 LED 5050, which gives 510 lumen per meter OR 120 LED 3528, which gives 800 lumen per meter, could be an example of medium brightness LED strip lights.

The more the LED chips in light the more it will be brighter. The less the Lead chips the lower the brightness will be. Color temperature effects the brightness as well. The cooler the brightness is the sharper the illumination will be. If the brightness is warm it will give your eyes a soft view.
Make sure you buy the LED strip light according to the area you want to install it. The area really matters. I’m sure you don’t want the high cooler brightness LED strip light to install in your kitchen, where you just want to decorate the area. And the low brightness strip light to decorate the area for the party. Always choose the right brightness to enlighten up the area.
