Hello World! Welcome Friends! I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited for Autumn and possibly cooler temperatures. I had to throw that “possibly” in there since cooler weather can be quite elusive here in the South.
Le Grand Verre Wines reached out to me to see if we would be interested in trying some of their wine. There was a definite YES from us! Greg was super excited about this collaboration…he kept inquiring when we were going to receive our shipment.
To celebrate the start of Autumn and the completion of our massive painting project, we created a small charcuterie board to pair with the wine. Chloe was super excited about the charcuterie board…she snapped a quick picture and shared it to her Instagram. Some of you may have seen it in my stories.
You know how it is, you’re shopping for wine and want to try a new wine that looks appealing. The problem is that you have to buy an entire bottle without getting a chance to taste it. What if it is not to your liking? Did you just throw a good chunk of money down the drain?
These cute bottles from Le Grand Verre are perfect for tasting. They are shatterproof (trust me, that’s important in this household) and they hold a generous glass of glorious wine.
Greg and I decided to divide each bottle so we could taste all of the varying flavors.
The Four Flavors We Tried
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Sauvignon Blanc
- Rose Blend
- Bandol
Le Grand Verre’s mission is to share fine French wine with the world! Having lived near Sonoma and Napa in California, we went wine tasting quite a bit. I do have my favorites from that region, but I do love a good French wine. But, alas I haven’t traveled to France in quite a few years. Personally, I feel this company is meeting a demand in the wine market. I loved the idea of getting to drink a glass of French wine in the comfort of my home to decide if it agrees with my palate. If it doesn’t, you haven’t wasted money on a bottle of wine that you don’t particularly like.
Let’s Talk Flavor
All of the wines were quite delicious! But, I did have my favorite!
- Domaine Nadal Haniaut 2019 is a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon made with organic grapes. It is rich with black fruits and a hint of licorice. I was pleasantly surprised with this wine. Very smooth and tasty. It must have been the licorice.
- Domaine Prataviera 2019 Sauvignon Blanc was really perfect with our appetizers! Intense tropical fruit combined with a refreshing citrus finish.
- Domaine Caylus 2020 Rosé had delicate notes of strawberry, tropical fruit and pineapple. I adore strawberries and pineapple, so this one was very good!
- Château Val D’Arenc 2020 Bandol was my favorite! With notes of grapefruit, peach and raspberry; I can see why it is a favorite rosé in France and now one of my favorites!
Really, all of them were excellent! Beautifully packaged bottles and the sublime taste of wine made our celebration of the Start of Autumn and the finish of the big paint project really perfect.
