Hello World! Welcome Friends! Casters are one of the most commonly used products in the world. However, their sheer number can also make it difficult to shop for them; with hundreds of variations, you might need a little help to figure out which kind is right for you. Consider this a general buyer’s guide.
Size Casters can range from tiny accessories to major mobility tools. Before you do anything else, you’ll need to decide the size of casters that you require. Keep in mind, however, that casters are usually measured in diameters rather than traditional lengths and widths.
Weight Capacity
How much weight do you need the casters to bear? Industrial steel caster wheels are usually stronger than the plastic type that you buy for desks and office chairs, so make sure that you’re looking at material type in addition to overall weight capacity.
Maneuverability
Some casters can be swiveled in every direction. Others are rigidly locked into place. There are pros and cons to each type, so neither is inherently better than the other; it all depends on what you’re doing with them. For example, locked casters might be safer for warehouses while flexible casters are ideal for narrow restaurant kitchens.
Brand
If you’re new to the world of casters, you might not know which brands have a better reputation than others. You’ll need to do your homework to figure it out. Read reviews; compare and contrast product lines; plug the brand name into a search engine and see what other people are saying about them.
Price
Last but certainly not least, always look at the bottom line of your budget. You don’t want to overspend on a bulk order of casters. If you can’t quite afford the product that you’re looking at, consider emailing the manufacturers and asking for a coupon. If you’re in the market for casters, these are just a few tips for making sure that you get your money’s worth. You can also perform additional research to help you along. You’ll want to be fully confident in your caster choices, so don’t be afraid of a little legwork!

I’ve never given casters much thought but you gave me an aha moment. I have a low chest of drawers that I always loved but one of the front legs was gnawed on by one of my puppies, years ago. Why lop them off and add casters!! Thanks for sharing with us at Fiesta Friday!

Casters are a great idea, especially if you have to move furniture around on rugs or carpeting. Right now, on wood floors, I’ve been putting old nightgowns under one end, and shoving, then removing the gowns when I’ve re-adjusted the furniture. Not always optimal!!! The chest / dresser with the castors you depict work very aesthetically together! Thanks for bringing to Fiesta Friday!
