Hello World! Welcome Friends! Hope everyone had a safe and fun All Hallow’s Eve. We got all the cousins together for a photo opportunity before going to a Fall Festival. A few weeks back, you may remember a question was posed whether or not to paint the candle holders. Well, I painted them.
Let’s take a look at them prior to the paint.

The candle holders were really giving me some great personality and I just couldn’t stop taking their picture. Now, another question, should I maybe do some painting all along the little lines and crevices? What do you think? So far, much better than before. The paint definitely woke them up.
Here are a few pics of all the silly cousins (except one…he was studying…boo) last night. Gregory as the Great Pumpkin, MaryJo as a Kitty, Gabriella as Waldo from Where’s Waldo, Grant as Santa Claus, and Chloe as a Monarch Butterfly.
This is my absolute favorite picture. Little cousins looking out the door window for Nana. I love how the sun is coming through her wings. When Grant is around, the rest of us pale in comparison for Chloe. She loves her older cousin.
Alrighty, are you guys and gals ready to hit the ground running? The holiday season has officially started. I’m so excited! But, before I go, I must tell you another Camille story. She came to the back door meowing the other morning around breakfast. I’m so glad I looked at her before I let her in. She had a live hummingbird in her mouth! She wanted to come in my house and torture that sweet bird. I was able to distract her through the window so she opened her mouth a bit and off flew the hummingbird! Whew! Don’t think I would have liked to see that torture session.
Sweet Camille. She keeps us on our toes. Okay, so should I do some more painting on the candle holders or leave as is? Hope everyone has a grand evening!

Toodles,
I would rub some of the dark stuff into the crevices then clean it all of, leaving some of the dark stuff behind. I don't know what the "dark stuff" is that people use, sorry. The do look beautiful white, though!
Hugs, Cindy
I love how these turned out!! Great job…love the color

Fancy Frugal life
oh my gosh those candlesticks went from ugly to fab. The lighter color really shows off their details. Nice job, hey everyone looks so cute. We just handed out candy, my hubs a party booper.
Thanks for partying with Sunday's Best party.
Hey Kathryn! I love the candle holders white, they have so much personality and look perfect with those candles. You can always try glazing one with some dark umber and see how you like it, if you don't like it…spray it white again!
I vote for glazing the candle holders a little…bring out all those amazing details! Love your little trick-or-treaters!
Great decision to paint them. You can distress them a little by rubbing dark wax or a dark stain on them and than rubbing it off. It will get into the crevices and really show up the detail!
Marianne
I sure think you made the right decision on painting the candlesticks! They looks gorgeous and I love the pretty candles you've placed on them too!

What a great bunch of characters!
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia
The candlesticks are 1000 times better in white. Before you noticed the color. Now you see the beautiful details.
Hi Kathryn,
Love them in white, great job!! and I love them with the silver tray behind them, I am crazy for white and silver, yummy!!
Hugs,
Bella
it is looking really lovely!
it now pops rather than blends in the background
Definitely much better! The detail on those candlesticks is gorgeous. It might be interesting to do a bit of detailing on them?
Kris
Hi Kathryn,
They look marvelous!!!
The candle glow is so pretty!!
Beautiful pictures & your little butterfly!
Thank you for visiting today, what a neat story about your Christmas bulbs!
All the Best,
Christine
Beautiful! They look great, I would leave them as is
I like the new candle sticks they came out great. One small suggestion, you could lightly sand the candle sticks to let some of the dark show through, just a thought. Laura Cottage and Broome
Love the candle sticks! Dark wax would look great on top!
I'd love for you to share any of your other work!

Those are fantastic, and I really love the candles too. Great pics. Your Halloween looked fun. Thanks for sharing with my newbie party.
So glad to have found your blog at a linky.
Wow those look great, I have some on the coffee table that I have been wanting to paint. Looks like I will be looking for some paint this afternoon. LOL
Wow! What a difference the paint made. They look beautiful!
Sharon @ mrshinesclass
Oooh, yes! Rustoleum to the rescue again! They look fabulous in white! I think I'd keep them stark white. If you decide to add some stain later to show off the details in a new way, that would work well too. They really show your fancy candles well!

White is so popular but they were perfectly lovely before.
Your candlesticks look wonderful painted.

Kathryn, I love how the white paint just brought out all of the details in the candlesticks! They're lovely! I would love for you to share this project at my party tomorrow! http://theshadyporch.blogspot.com/
I love your candle holders. The white really brought their shape and curves.
Wish you a good day!
Love this! You can see them now! Have you tried that rub n buff bronze stuff? I know I am not calling it the right thing. I see people using it all the time and enhancing some of the pretty details. Don't you want to try it first and tell me about it? ; ) Thank you so much for sharing this at Meet Me Monday linky party! Maybe…you could try the other stuff and share that next week. : ) LOL. Either way…love it! Love, Me http://www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com
I actually thought the candle sticks looked pretty neat before… but then I saw the after and, WOW! They are AMAZING looking now!!!
I had a few candle sticks that I thought were ugly so I stuffed them away in a box – which my hubby then secretly threw away! Argh, they would have looked awesome with a paint job – grrr
I think I would leave your candle sticks as they are now – I really love how dramatic they look in white.
Take care,
Christina

They look great white! My hubby always wonders why I either want to paint something white or black. 'Cause it works, that's why! Thanks for sharing at Sunday's Best =)
The candle holders look so much better, but I think they could go that extra mile with some glazing. It would bring out all the details.
Thanks for linking up and linking back to catch as catch can.

Wow, these look great. I have some like this that I've been thinking about painting too. Thank you for posting it's encouraged me to go for it. ps…I think you should give some glaze a try, if you don't like it you can always go back to the white.
I love them white. Good decision. Should I paint my china cabinet???

Love the transformation – to get depth and patina adding a glaze may be nice, but I think the way they are compliment your decor beautifully,
Kathy
I love the look of the crisp white with the grey. So elegant!
I'm going to give this a try.
