Hello World! Welcome Friends! We’ve all had to spend more time indoors than we would have liked over the past year, so, if you haven’t already, maybe it’s time to freshen up your interiors.
Almost 60% of UK consumers planned to redecorate during lockdown last year and the bedroom was one of the priorities, a survey conducted by GlobalData.
If your bedroom is still in need of rejuvenation, we have collated this year’s top trends below to offer some inspiration.
Bright Colors
Summer is approaching but you could bring some light into your home early with a fresh a coat of paint. Select something from the warmer side of the color wheel can keep your walls looking fresh and vivid.
Reds, oranges and yellows add vibrancy to a bedroom in need of livening up. Illuminating, a bright and cheerful yellow, and Ultimate Grey were named the 2021 Pantone Colors of the Year.
Picking the right shade is key to making a space you feel happy and comfortable in.
Keep Things Clear
It has long been claimed that a clear room can help clear your mind.
Many of us are probably guilty of hanging on to too much clutter, so making sure you have clever storage options in your bedroom is of paramount importance.
A simple, minimalist chest of drawers can give you somewhere to put things you don’t want to have on show, while a modern bedroom ottoman offers storage and seating.
The most important things are your wardrobes, though. Choosing sliding wardrobes can give you floor-to-ceiling storage in even the most awkward-shaped room.
Opt for Sustainable Materials
Get a clean, natural feel inside your bedroom by choosing your furniture, carpet, paint and mattress carefully.
Look for furniture made from solid wood or constructed with material certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
The glue and foam backing used in carpets can give off volatile organic compounds (VOCs), so try to find a low- or zero-VOC carpet to avoid toxins being released into your room. VOCs are also important to consider when selecting your paint.
Going for a natural or organic mattress could also keep you away from harsh chemicals. Check whether the mattress you want is compliant with the guidelines set out by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
Statement Beds
Headboards can be a relatively inexpensive way of adding a new dimension to your bedroom.
Rather than have a piece of art on the wall, plump for a larger headboard that uses bold colors and patterns to complement your decor in a way you might not previously have thought of.
The right selection can transform a room and provide a focal point to be proud of.
