Hello World. Today’s review is all about bamboo…specifically bamboo shoe racks. A bamboo shoe rack is not only functional, but it is also a piece that is beautiful enough to be featured sitting out in your bedroom. Bamboo has varying shades of color, and that adds to its uniqueness.
The three-tier 30-pound weight capacity per shelf natural
bamboo rack comes in a two pack that is stackable with mesh panels that are removable for connecting the racks. There are no tools required for set-up. It folds up flat and will take up little space when stored.
Bamboo is an amazing perennial evergreen plant with woody stems that is one of the world’s fastest-growing. It exists in tropical, subtropical and mild temperate areas such as islands in the Pacific and Indian oceans, East and Southeast Asia and a few species in the southern United States.
This giant and strong member of the grass family promotes healthy soil and is biodegradable, renewable and is certified compostable. Bamboo palms attain heights anywhere from four to six inches up to approximately 130 feet!
The most fascinating feature of bamboo is its many uses. The stems are split up to make furniture such as cabinets and such items as the above shoe rack, the largest stems can become planks for houses and rafts and stems can be lashed together to form scaffolding.
The pulped fibers of some species are used to make fine-quality paper. The jointed stems can be used as ornamentals in landscaping. Fabric and decorations are also part of the popular bamboo goods industry, which is worth an approximate $25 billion.
The seeds can be used as grain, young shoots are cooked and eaten as vegetables especially in Chinese cuisines, and the leaves can be used for livestock fodder. The fine-grained silica in the joints of the stems has been used for centuries as a medicine in the Orient.
Bamboo has so many great uses. Thank you for popping in to take a look. Have a pretty rest of the day and remember to be kind to one another! Fear Not!
Toodles,
Kathryn
