Hello World! Welcome Friends! There comes a point in everyone’s life when they feel ready to step up and really become an adult. What this actually looks like tends to vary from person to person. For some people, it’s finally getting their dream of starting their own business underway. For others, it’s getting married and having children. And for some people, it’s putting their flag in the ground and becoming a homeowner.
If you’re in the latter category, then you’re not alone. The question is, how do you know if you’re ready to become a homeowner? It’s a big step to take, after all! In this post, we’ll look at a few signs that you’re ready to go through the process of buying your own very home.
Your Finances Are In Check
First thing first: your money situation is looking good. You don’t necessarily need a ton of money to become a homeowner, but you most definitely need to have your finances in check. That means having a good chunk of money that you can use for the deposit, having a stable job (with a stable income), and a good credit score, among other details. You won’t be able to buy a house without having these things, so if you’re looking to buy a house, get these details in order first.
You Feel Settled
Buying a house is a long and drawn-out process. Once you’ve done it, you’ll want to stay still for a little while. They say that you should expect to be in your house for around ten years before moving. If you’ve still got a desire to travel as much as you can, then buying a house will make no sense. You can have an adventurous life, or you can have a settled life — you can’t have both! If your youthful days are behind you and you’re ready to commit to one space, then buying a property can make sense.
You’re Done With Renting
We all need to live somewhere. If you don’t own your own home, then you’ll be renting somewhere — and that means you’re paying the mortgage of someone else. A new Truehold study shows homeowners don’t regret their purchases, and you have to imagine that’s because they’ve finally said goodbye to giving money to their landlords. Once you’ve bought a place, your mortgage payments will be an investment in yourself, one that you’ll get to enjoy in your later years.
You Understand Your Motivation
Not everyone is meant to own a home. We live in a society that pushes people to think in this way, but the truth is that some people would be happier just renting for the rest of their lives, or living a nomadic existence. If you’re considering getting on the property ladder because it’s something you think you should do, then it’ll be best to take a step back and reconsider your decision. The process of buying a house is difficult and challenging, so you’ll need good motivation to go through with it! It must feel right.

We love our home and are here for the long-haul. I never understood always upgrading your home and moving around so much. We bought our home 10 years ago and we never plan on leaving, we are just that happy here.
