Hello World! Welcome Friends! A bedroom is one of the coziest places in our home, and a perfect spot to relax and unwind after a long, tiring day. While there is a lot of furniture that can enhance the look of your bedroom and bath, a bedroom will never look modish and trendy without a sophisticated, shiny and lustrous bed.
Today, there are a variety of beds available in the market and one can easily choose from an array of options as per their overall home decor. But, after buying one of the classy mid-century modern beds, you need to maintain it properly to ensure that it stays shiny and new always.

Clean It Regularly
Cleaning your wooden beds regularly will ensure that dust does not accumulate on it. If it is not possible to wipe the exposed areas of the bed with a damp cloth and mild dish soap, ensure that you do it at least two or three times a week. Use a soft cloth for wiping the dust off the bed to ensure that it does not get any scratches during the process of cleaning.
Soft Wax Twice A Year
The best way to protect the finish of your bed is by using a high-quality wax on it. As directed on the label, apply the wax on the bed as a thin coating, wait for a few minutes and then buff it off with a soft cloth or a gentle brush. Wait for another hour, and then buff it off again, but a little vigorously this time with a soft cloth. This will keep your bed shining for months.
Keep Your Beds Away From The Direct Sunlight
The sun rays coming through the window can damage the wood of your bed and make it fade away. Also, during summers, when the sun rays are quite hot, they can badly affect the fine finishes of the bed, make the wood dry out and can also shrink the wood causing cracks. Thus, whenever possible, keep the curtains on the windows during the daytime to avoid over exposure of the bed to the direct sun rays.
Keep Your Bed Away From The Heating Vents
If you live in a cold place, then ensure that your bed is not placed near the heating vents or units. Dryer heat can cause the bed’s wood to shrink and crack over time. Also, during the dry months, use a humidifier to maintain moisture in the room.
Hide Scratches With Shoe Polish
To hide the scratches, and for a quick fix touch up, you can use a shoe polish of the appropriate color. Applying the shoe polish will fill up the small cracks and would make them less visible. You can also use a felt-tip marker of the matching color for a better finish.
Don’t Feed Your Bed’s Wood
The wood of the bed does not need feeding. It needs oiling or frequent polishing. Once you have added a protective layer on the wood of the bed, it will stay there for months and all you need to do after it is just regular cleaning with dry and damp cloth.
With these tips and tricks, you can maintain your beds for years to come.
