Hello World! Welcome Friends! While there’s still plenty of 2021 left to go, we’re in the home stretch heading into 2022. With this in mind, there’s no time like the present to get yourself ready to hit the ground running next year. For many people, that starts with their health and wellness.
It’s been a tough year and a half for everybody, with millions of people putting their personal wellbeing on the backburner to take care of sick relatives and manage other forms of stress brought on by the pandemic. However, now’s the time to get back on track.
Doing so with several months to go before 2022 will make it easier to start the new year off on the right foot. With that, let’s take a look at six essential steps towards achieving better health and wellness in the months ahead:
Build Up Endurance
Cardiovascular fitness is essential to good health. Since so many people aim to lose weight and get into shape at the start of the new year, why not get started early and take steps to improve physical stamina. Getting your heart rate up and keeping it up will condition it for even longer stretches of exercise later. That way, by the time 2022 rolls around, you’ll be able to run several miles without getting winded.
Improve Gut Health
Millions of people live and work with ongoing gastrointestinal issues. Rather than suffer another year of gut pain and bathroom emergencies, consider taking probiotics. These microorganisms are the good guys of the bacteria world, working to reset your gut microbiome by replacing the microbes responsible for most gastrointestinal problems. Consume Less Alcohol
The truth is there’s no such thing as a healthy amount of alcohol. Even moderate alcohol consumption is linked to a variety of diseases and disorders. If you tend to drink a lot, it’s time to start cutting back. Reduced alcoholic consumption can happen incrementally. Consider it a process rather than a quest for perfection. As long as you’re continually drinking less, you’ll be improving your health and wellbeing.
Get More Sleep
Many people put their sleep needs aside in pursuit of work and life obligations. However, the health and wellness consequences of sleep deprivation can be devastating. Most adults need seven to nine hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. While that’s a high bar to reach for most people, it’s one you should keep trying to grab. Take steps to make it easier to fall asleep, such as using cbd tinctures or having a relaxing bath beforehand, and optimize your bedroom to make it easier to stay asleep. Doing so will have you better prepared to face the morning come 2022.
Find a Fun Hobby
There’s more to life than working until you’re tired and sleeping until it’s time for work. Life is meant to be lived, which means finding fun and fulfilling things to do with your free time. If free time is hard to find, take steps to have one half-day a week to spend doing whatever you want. Rather than watch television for 12 hours, consider something with more thought and movement involved. Amateur sports, art, gardening, and photography are just some of the options available.
