Hello World! Welcome Friends! Working from home is the perfect excuse to redo your office or study space to accommodate your new career situation. For some of us this is only temporary but for others, it is a more permanent solution to the current pandemic climate. Designing the perfect home office doesn’t have to be a stressful nightmare, especially if you follow these 5 professional design tips.
Select the Perfect Room
Finding the perfect spot for your office is the biggest make or break factor when it comes to working from home efficiently. Find a room or a spot that gets loads of natural light, a great view and (hopefully) guaranteed privacy and peace! If you already have a home office then take a hard look at the design of it, working from home requires more time in your home office so it needs to be a perfect fit for you.
Get the Right Equipment
Our home offices have never received so much attention in their lives, if it’s the right attention then it shouldn’t be a problem. However, no good will come of you struggling with old and outdated office equipment so you need to make sure yours is in tiptop shape and ready for whatever you throw at it. At the very least you need to upgrade your current set up with a new, faster computer and a wireless printer – consider that the bare minimum. Select the Right Lighting
Sometimes life and work get a little crazy, so you might find yourself burning the midnight oil in your home office. Make sure that you select the perfect lighting solution for your particular room, keeping in mind the areas you will spend the most time in. You don’t need to go for old-fashioned desk lamps, there are so many gorgeous lighting options available to browse online until you find your perfect match.
Get A Comfortable Chair
Keeping your bum in a chair the entire day is so much easier if the said chair is comfortable. I know some chairs might seem expensive (considering they are just chairs) but you need to spend a fair bit of money on this purchase. Trust me though, a comfortable chair will be the difference between backache and no backache so it is a worthy investment. You don’t have to buy the most expensive office chair on the market but you do need to get a good quality chair that will suit your specific needs.
Choose Cheerful Décor
The last thing anyone wants first thing in the morning, after making that very long commute from the kitchen, is to sit in a dreary and drab office all day. Your home office should be a neat, clean and cheerful personal extension of yourself – if it’s not then you need to go back to the drawing board and redesign your workspace. Keep the color palette neutral and add the pops of color with décor accessories or wallpaper.
