Hello World! Welcome Friends! The time of cleaning your carpets has come. It is not the most pleasant thing to do, but it has to be done in order to keep your house clean and live in a healthy environment.
Carpets can contain a lot of germs. Many of the carpet cleaning products contain a lot of chemicals, so you might be wondering if there is a natural way to clean carpets. Thankfully, there are ways to naturally clean your carpet, and you could even use a natural carpet cleaner instead of the products stuffed with chemicals.
Below are 5 ways to clean your carpets in a natural way.
1. Do Not Wear Outside Shoes Inside the House
Preventing the carpets from getting dirty in the first place is as important as cleaning them. Stepping on a carpet with shoes worn outside can bring in a lot of sand, and it accumulates over time. You don’t clean the carpets daily, so this can become an issue. Dirty carpets are not pleasant, so it’s better to take off your shoes before stepping on them.
2. Vacuum Them
The first and most important part of cleaning a carpet is vacuuming it. Vacuuming should take place regularly anyway, once or maybe even twice a week. A lot of dust, dirt, dander and sand can accumulate inside your carpet. There are a lot of germs, so vacuuming it keeps their level to a minimum. The environment you live in is going to be healthier with a clean carpet.
3. Wash the Carpets
The carpet may have a lot of stains that you need to remove. You could purchase natural cleaning solutions, use natural soap, or even make your own natural cleaner. You are probably going to be surprised, but many products from your kitchen can help create a cleaner for your carpets.
4. Create Your Own Carpet Cleaner
As mentioned, there are many products that can be mixed to create a carpet cleaner that doesn’t contain chemicals.
Mixing vinegar with water can help you get rid of stains that you thought can not ever be removed. Baking soda and lemon juice can also be used to remove naughty stains from your carpet.
There are other things that can be used to clean your carpet. For instance, salt can remove wine stains, ketchup or greasy stains. Beer can also be used for more than drinking. It helps get tea and coffee stains out of your carpet. You might have to repeat the process of rubbing the beer into the material until successfully removing the stain.
5. Keep Them Fresh
You can create your own carpet freshener as well. You can mix one cup of baking soda, ½ cup of borax (if you have pets) and 10-20 drops of essential oil. By mixing them, you can create a freshener that can also keep fleas away.
You can use it before vacuuming the carpet. Let it sit in the carpet for some minutes, then start vacuuming.
Final Thoughts
Cleaning your carpet doesn’t necessarily require the use of chemical cleaners. Hopefully, this guide was able to show you how to clean your carpets naturally.
