Hello World! Welcome Friends! Hosting a party in your home but don’t know where to start? No matter how many guests you’re inviting, your home should feel welcoming and comfortable for everyone.
Luckily, with a few furniture tweaks, cooking tricks, and a good plan, you can host an unforgettable gathering.
Here are 5 ways to turn your home into a house for entertaining and throw the best dinner party everyone will talk about.
1. Make a Plan
Before you start inviting guests to your party, it’s a good idea to make a plan. What will you need to buy? What furniture will you need to move? Do you need to accommodate special needs? Where will the party be?
Turning your everyday living home into an entertaining house can take time, so plan ahead and make a list at least one week before the party.
2. Rearrange the Furniture
If you want to host a party where everyone will be together, turn your living room into an entertainment area. Move all furniture to the side and leave one big space in the middle of the room for mingling.
If needed, remove furniture that takes up space and won’t be used during the party. This can include ottomans, special decorations, kids’ stuff, and even the TV.
3. Build An Entertainer’s Kitchen
The best way to be with your guests and prepare the food at the same time is to build an entertainer’s kitchen. An open concept floor plan would be perfect for this.
But if your kitchen is separate from the entertainment area, head over to a kitchen appliance store to shop for some new tools, gadgets, and appliances. This way, you’ll cook and prep everything much faster, so you can go entertain your guests.
4. Make Your Home Multifunctional
Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or a barbecue party, you’ll have guests with different backgrounds and interests. Not everyone will want to mingle and chat all night long.
Some guests might prefer sitting down and enjoying the food; others might bring their kids. This is why you should make your home multifunctional to try and meet everyone’s needs. For example, have a special kids’ entertainment area, a sitting area, and a games area.
5. Make Your Hallway Welcoming
Your hallway or foyer is the first thing your guests see when they enter your house. Make it welcoming for them and set so they can leave their coats, shoes, and other belongings safely.
Add a bunch of fresh flowers, make sure the lighting is good, and add a little chair or ottoman for the guests. Also, make sure the front door area is also clean and tidy before the guests arrive.
