Hello World! Welcome Friends! Just a quick update, we are safe and dry from Hurricane Harvey. I’m planning on doing a full post regarding our experiences and the ongoing effort to help those who lost everything. But, for now, let’s get to things more home centered.
Deciding on one kind of toilet for the whole house can be quite a hassle. Especially when there are people of more than one race of people residing in one house, you need to consider all the toilet options before deciding on one. This is because Americans are used to mainly the Western Two-piece kinds, Indians are used to the squatting kind of toilets and Japanese people are used to smart toilets. This is why we are going to talk about the different kinds of toilets you can install in your house to care for everyone’s needs.
Western Toilets
The most common kinds of toilets that exist are the western kind of toilets. Mainly used and originated in America and Europe, this toilet has found its way to many other corners of the world because of the kind of comfort it can provide. Many people use it with a shower bidet or some other kind of bidet as well. It can come as a one-piece or two-piece toilet, depending on the space available.
Composting Toilets
Another kind of toilet which is very useful but not quite as common is the composting toilet. Composting toilets are very friendly for the environment and are great for saving water since they do not require any plumbing and the waste is transferred to nature. These are a great option for small cabins and other retreats where you do not frequent since they require no maintenance. Toilet composters can work with electricity as well and have added functions like not imparting any odor and being able to be emptied easily.
Squatting Toilets
These are most commonly found in countries like India. Instead of sitting on it like a western toilet, you are supposed to squat down and relieve yourself of the waste. Other than that, it also has a water compartment and can be flushed clean. Squatting toilets can also be easily be paired with bidets and used with added ease.
Universal Toilet
This is a very handy toilet though it is not very common. It is a combination of a western style toilet and a squatting toilet. This is because it gives you the option of sitting like on a western style toilet but, you can also squat on it if you prefer to. This kind of toilet can also be easily paired with a bidet and can be flushed like any other toilet.
Intelligent Toilets
Intelligent toilets are most commonly used in Japan. These toilets are quite high tech and futuristic since they come with a control panel. This panel has functions that can enable the toilet to perform many functions, some of these include flushing, a water sprout-like bidet to clean your rear a seat warmer to salvage you the pain of having to sit on an icy toilet seat in winters, etc. Unless these toilets are common in your region, you need to spare yourself the pain of spending so much money and stick to the regular kinds.
