Hello World! Welcome Friends! A routine cleaning schedule often consists of vacuuming, washing the dishes, and dusting. Although this doesn’t seem like much, many people struggle to find the time to clean their homes. This is when Houston house cleaning services, or house cleaning services wherever your home is, become useful. It’s incredibly helpful to have someone else clean your house, especially when you have critical cleaning tasks that can easily be forgotten. Discover four of the most commonly overlooked cleaning tasks in your home.
Deep Cleaning the Kitchen
The kitchen tends to be the most frequented room in the house. Keeping it clean and organized can make daily routines easier to accomplish. Although cleaning the kitchen is a daily chore for many, deep cleanings are sometimes overlooked. Deep cleaning the kitchen includes organizing the cupboards, scrubbing them down with hot water and soap, and washing the appliances.
The best way to tackle the kitchen project is to remove everything entirely from the cupboards and refrigerator. Scrub each of the surfaces with a sponge and soap mixture. While you are waiting for these areas to dry, create a plan of organization. Organize your pantry items by use and your refrigerator items by type.
Sanitizing the Home
Regularly sanitizing the most touched surfaces within the home is important. These surfaces are most likely to hold bacteria that can lead to illness, surfaces such as light switches, door handles, and remote controls.
You can easily complete this task quickly by using sanitizing wipes. Leave a container on the counter for easy reach and swipe over the surfaces during your regular cleaning schedule. Use a cotton swab with antibacterial cleaner to get around the control buttons and in hard-to-reach door handles.
Window Washing
Many homeowners put off the chore of washing windows because it is a timely and complex job. But keeping your windows shining can increase your home’s curb appeal and prolong the life of your windows.
Create a mixture of hot water and distilled vinegar to effectively wash the windows. Using a squeegee can prevent leaving streaks on the windows. Scheduling your window cleaning when the sun is not directly shining on the windows is also important. Otherwise, the glare from the sun can make it difficult to see dirty spots on the windows.
Cleaning the HVAC System
Cleaning your home’s HVAC system will not only improve the air quality within your home, but it can also extend the life of the unit. While it is best to have a routine schedule for HVAC cleanings, you should also look for certain signs that your system and ductwork need an immediate cleaning. If your HVAC system is producing more dust than usual or breaking down frequently, or you notice an increase in your home utility bills, a dirty unit could be the cause.
You should leave HVAC system cleanings to the professionals. They can inspect the equipment and perform any needed tuneups while cleaning the system. They can also get deep into air ducts to give your ductwork a more thorough cleaning.
While everyday cleaning tasks keep your home in order, deep-cleaning tasks keep your home free of contaminants and debris. Make sure you are completing the above critical tasks you may be overlooking around your home.

Great tips. I really need to have my ducts cleaned. I have added it to the list to get done before we turn the heat back on in late fall. Thanks for the reminder. I must say one of the best investments we have made to our home is the fold in windows. It makes cleaning the outside so easy and we do not need a ladder to do it. We just fold them in, clean and replace. No more paying window washers. Whoohoo! TFS with #omgww.

If there will be less dust around, I will definitely have the HVAC cleaned which I never event think of! Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the HVAC clean thought – my old house was hot water heated (no A/C). This one is forced air, and yes, I can see and understand that this especially needs periodic cleaning out. New enough here that I’ll schedule it for late autumn. (At least ATM.)
Another thing people forget… clean off the tops of cabinets that don’t go to the ceiling. (I have a cathedral ceiling in my kitchen – so the uppers get dusty up there…)

Kathryn, great hints!! I especially like the wipes idea – I did (and do ) the same thing when I was helping out my folks, (and at home) one of who has COPD. That was the first time ever they did not come down with their annual colds and flu which usually led to bronchitis and then pneumonia.
Since I’ve gotten older, I usually tackle one or two cupboards or drawers a day in my kitchen; knock them off fast and they’re done in about a week. Same with the windows. One side of the house at a time. Then it doesn’t seem so daunting or exhausting.
Thanks for sharing with us this week at Fiesta Friday!
Mollie
