Hello World! Welcome Friends! Essential to any home, the proper management of lighting can have a dramatic impact on any room or area of the house. But it isn’t simply a case of grabbing any light you want and putting it anywhere, there are different lights that are suited to different areas.
Some types of lighting are better for the kitchen while others are better placed in the lounge and each type of light has its own unique properties and limitations. There are a vast amount of different lights available these days but some of the best include:
- LED Recessed Lighting
- Ambient Lamps
- Smart Bulbs
Recessed lighting is excellent for providing strong spotlighting while being discreet and lamps with varying wattage can create cozy ambient lighting, and for the tech-savvy, smart bulbs can easily be integrated into a smart home system with voice control and color settings.
LED Recessed Lighting
These small spotlights can provide a surprising amount of light and are best placed in groups for rooms or areas where you don’t want to hang a traditional lighting fixture. Some of the best recessed lighting comes from LED bulbs which are both powerful and cheap, both in the purchase price and electricity usage.
A standard LED bulb costs on average 87% less than a traditional incandescent filament bulb to run although they do have higher upfront costs, which is eventually offset in savings. However, LED recessed bulbs come in many colors, are easy to install, and work very well with dimmer switches. Their small size is also deceiving as they can be very bright, making them an excellent choice for kitchens and bathrooms. For lighting components visit Tripar Inc.
Ambient Lamps
When looking to create a comfortable and cozy space, the use of ambient lamps is essential. Unlike LED bulbs, for ambient lighting it might be better to choose a variety of bulb types, although low wattage LED bulbs or lighting strips can be used to accent the ambient light of a room. Even incandescent bulbs can be used since there are new eco-friendly types available that provide the warm hues associated with older bulbs, but some of these can take a few minutes to fully illuminate.
Different color lamp shades will also have an impact on the colors that are produced so if you want to use the color of the bulb then opt for an open or glass lamp. It is also best to strategically place these lamps around the room rather than together or one at each side of the couch. Be sure to check which bulb type each lamp needs as these can vary.
Smart Bulbs
Like almost everything else these days, even the humble light bulb can be connected to the web and manipulated using a smart device such as a smartphone or tablet. Smart bulbs are amazing as they have all the features of many bulbs in one including being able to change the colors, brightness, and timers as well as voice control for the lazy among us.
Almost every smart bulb can be used with standard smart controllers such as Alexa and Siri which is a breeze to set up if you already have a smart home system set up. However, these bulbs are very expensive, especially the better-branded ones, so placing a set in your home will run into the hundreds, it’s just a case of whether you think the features are worth it.

Helpful ideas in lighting are very useful at home. You can use and install proper lights as DIY but better when electricians do it. Just to be safe.
