Hi friends! This Summer I have two goals. 1. Go through my house as much as I can and declutter and organize the hot spots. 2. Finish as many home decor projects as I can manage. We don’t have a big trip planned, just some small jaunts to visit a niece and her family and a nephew and his girlfriend. So, I should be able to check a few things off of my list.
Today, I’m sharing my newly organized laundry room. Let me remind you of what it looked like when we moved in, then a makeover picture, then to the disaster it is has become.

We moved into the home in April 2019 and I started work on getting rid of the baby diarrhea paint color that was pervasive throughout the house.

I painted the cabinets with Sherwin Williams Realist Beige SW 6078, the shelves and doors Sherwin Williams Inky Blue 9149, and the walls Sherwin Williams First Star 7646. So much better than the espresso cabinets and mustard colored trim, shelves and doors.
However, I do have plans to repaint the doors, trim, and shelves the Realist Beige color as well as the walls using Sherwin Williams Diverse Beige 6079. I switched the wall color in the house from First Star to Diverse Beige a while back. I will definitely share those updated rooms with you soon.
Let’s see the mess…

The clutter of cleaning products and just stuff was really getting to me. The space is not big at all, so it really is in my best interest to keep it organized.

This side was not too bad. A collection of hangers that we don’t use and a broken handle on one of the bins. Fortunately, I had a spare bin in my closet that I could use to replace this one.
Let’s check out the interior of the cabinets, drawers and behind the door.

Before I show you the after, please note, I did not purchase any organizing bins. The bins you will see were being used in a freezer that is no longer working. My organizing project is not about making it aesthetically pleasing. The focus is to get my home organized and spend as little money as possible.

Not much changed behind the door. One apron that wasn’t being utilized got moved on to the donation bag. All of the items hung are used frequently so I thought it was best to leave them in their little spot.

I moved a lot of the product refill containers from the bottom cabinet to this cabinet which really freed up some space down below.

The drawers are much better. It may not be pretty, but we know exactly where things should go.

Just a few items on the countertop…FoodSaver, paper towels, pens, scrap paper, and just a few whatnots.

The freezer bins are coming in handy as well as a couple of other bins I had on hand.

The hangers we weren’t using were tossed and the bin with the broken handle was replaced. The contents of the bins on the shelf remained the same. Extra lunch bags, beach towels, rags, tissue, toilet paper and Dyson attachments.

It’s nice to have it organized. Now I won’t be over buying product since I know exactly what I have on hand.
The next organizing project will probably be the kitchen, but that may take me longer than a weekend. If I can’t get it done in a timely fashion, I’ll share a room update.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous week ahead!
