Hello World! Welcome Friends! Moving alone can be quite the daunting task, but I have found that figuring out a new house can be quite the challenge as well. When I say figuring out the new house, I mean where to hang pictures, place furniture and decor. This house is much bigger than my previous one, but I’m finding certain areas to be a challenge. The two areas I’m sharing with you today have been areas that have seen some changes. They are set…for now. You know, everything is subject to change.
This Ballad Designs chest has been moved around a bit, but for now this is where she has landed. Before we bought new furniture for the breakfast nook she resided in there with my table also from Ballad Designs.
The rectangle table just wasn’t working in the space even though I love both of these pieces.
Below is what the breakfast nook looks like now.
Speaking of the breakfast nook, I was so honored to have Country Curtains and Cutting Edge Stencils feature our Breakfast Nook on Instagram. If you missed those features you can check them out HERE and HERE! Needless to say, I was very excited to hear the news.
I know I said I was going to show you the laundry room this week, but one thing led to another and the laundry room is not quite finished. I decided to go ahead and tackle the back hallway as well. I’m looking to get those two spaces wrapped up this week.
Once the breakfast nook had her new furniture, this sweet chest got moved to this little spot. We keep the lamp on 24/7 so that Little Dedicated will have light in case she decides to come downstairs in the middle of the night.
The green vase is just one of many that my Mom gave me when she was downsizing to go into her new condo.
Don’t let the size of the marble tray fool you. She may be tiny, but she is one hefty chunk of marble.
Just around the corner in the curve of the staircase sits a lone china hutch.
Most of the blue and white decor landed here along with a few more items my Mom gave me.
The bell and plate are Avon pieces my Mom has had for years. Also, the milk glass vase on the top shelf is from my Mom as well.
Here’s another green vase from my Mom mixed in with all of the blue and white I’ve collected over the years.
These two really wanted to be in the photo shoot. I haven’t quite decided what I want in the way of a rug in the foyer. The rug in the picture has been a good one for cat napping and lounging, but it is time to get a new one. She’s looking a little worn.
We are really enjoying our new house and I hope to get many projects wrapped up this summer.
If you missed the evolution of the breakfast nook, those posts can be found HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
Thank you for stopping by for a little visit! Have a lovely day/night depending on where you are in the world! Go with God and remember to be kind to one another!

It’s all looking so lovely! I particularly like the vignette on the chest, which I think goes wonderfully in that space. Glad to have discovered you via #CreateLinkInsure. I shall have to look you up on Instagram 🙂 Sue ~ The World of Suzy Homemaker

Oh girl, this is just so pretty. You need the round table that we had in the stair turn at our last house. I don’t seem to have a place for it now.

I can definitely see why you would be kind of overwhelmed. I am loving the space myself, so much that even I feel like I need to get it right, as soon as possible.
It’s just beautiful and can’t wait to see more!

It loos fantastic. I love the paper in your breakfast nook. 🙂 You’re right, moving into a new home ~ even if it’s bigger and gorgeous ~ can be a daunting task. It’s hard to know where to place everything. You’re doing great though. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for stopping by, Jenny! It has been fun trying to figure out where to put everything. And the wall in the breakfast nook is a stencil that I got from Cutting Edge Stencils. It was a pain to do, but I love how it turned out. Hope your week is going well.

I love your collection of blue and white porcelain! And, the addition of a few green vases echoes the colors in the new breakfast nook. It’s nice to move a few pieces of furniture to different rooms and get a whole new decor feel without spending money on new pieces. Your home looks very pretty!
thededicatedhouse@gmail.com says
Awe, thank you so much, Carol! I’ve had quite a lot of fun rearranging trying to find the right look. Hope your week is going well.
