Hello World! Welcome Friends! We closed on the Colonial today!! I’ve always known the Colonial was going to be a stepping stone home for us. A house where we can build equity and then apply it to our last house before we do a custom build. To catch up those who are just popping in on our house hunting adventures, we toured 4 houses in our desired neighborhood. The house we chose is the final house for us while Little Dedicated finishes elementary, middle and high school. We are staying in the same school district for the entirety of her school years. She will be changing elementary schools, but has a ton of girlfriends that attend the school she will be transferring into. Most of these friends are from dance and gymnastics. Today, the house I’m featuring is the third house we toured.
We’ll call this one West Copper Lakes:
The West Copper Lakes house is a two story house with 4,268 square feet.
Double door entry.
Two story foyer.
This is the formal living room. On the other side of the foyer is a room that could be used as a study or a bedroom.
Formal dining room. I really love that chandy.
That is the driveway that you see outside the window. The garage is a detached 3 car tandem garage at the back of the house.
Family room with the same wood flooring that was used in the formal living and dining room.
Looking back into the foyer. The arched doorway to the right leads to the master bedroom.
The kitchen needs some love in my opinion. The door straight ahead leads to the panty.
Looking back towards the breakfast room. The closed door leads to the laundry room.
Looking into the family room.
Tons of wallpaper in the breakfast room.
This is the master bedroom. Just look at that fat crown molding.
More wallpaper in the master bathroom.
Master closet.
Bedroom #2 upstairs.
Bedroom #3 upstairs.
Bedroom #4 upstairs.
Bedroom #5 upstairs.
Other side of bedroom #5.
Upstairs game room. The closed doors lead to two of the upstairs bedrooms.
Another view of the game room upstairs.
Upstairs bedroom.
Jack and Jill bath upstairs.
Another bathroom.
Upstairs balcony off of the game room.
Lovely breezeway connecting the house to the detached garage.
Nice size backyard.
Here’s the rundown on West Copper Lakes:
5-6 Bedrooms
4 Baths
4268 sq. ft.
3 car tandem garage
Lot size: 11, 492
I would love to hear your thoughts on the West Copper Lakes house.

I love house hunting & watch House Hunters all the time on HGTV! I have enjoyed touring the first 3 homes & my favorite so far is number one. I love the beautiful staircase & the two story family room! I do love a white kitchen which can be hard to find! One question-are you going to put in a pool in any of these houses? I loved your pool at The Colonial! I am looking forward to seeing house #4 and seeing which one you chose. I love your blog & Instagram and how you decorate your home-I still love lots of blue in my decorating! Love to you & your family!

Hi Betsy! I’m a big fan of a white kitchen as well. And, I already have plans to paint the kitchen cabinets in the house we chose. We do have plans to put a pool in at the new house, but we will probably wait a year to make sure we can pay cash for it. In the meantime, we’ll just have to pop on over to Sandra’s pool for family pool time! Thank you so much for following along and your kind words! Love to you and yours!!

What a gorgeous house! There are so many things to love about it. The windows are all so pretty and the floors are too. Love the stairs!!

I really liked the windows as well. It was a tough decision because we liked all of the houses.

Oh my gosh- I definitely like this one the best! I love the exterior of the house a lot. That grand foyer is fantastic and the beautiful windows are wonderful. Love the gentle arches and the kitchen looks fantastic! Wow that big play room upstairs is perfect. Little Dedicated can practice her dancing up there! I guess the only negative to me is the wallpaper if you don’t like it and it has to be removed.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Liz! There is a lot of wallpaper in this house, but it has such nice features that it was definitely a contender on our house search. Have a happy rest of the week.

What a beautiful home! I love how white and bright it is! The thick crown molding really adds a lot of character.
