Hello World! Welcome Friends! Well, here we are in the home stretch of the One Room Challenge. I have been working steadily every day in Little Dedicated’s room while she is at school. And, once the after school activities are finished, homework accomplished, piano practiced, and dinner and dishes are done, I round up Mr. Dedicated to help me with one thing in her room. You know, the stuff that is really a two person job. Last week it was hanging the curios and artwork which took about half and hour while the child was in the shower. And, of course the hanging of the beautiful chandy! Last night he put the new strike plate on the door jamb for me just cause I had run out of steam. Tonight the curtains, valance, and tie back hardware are going up as well as the organizational hooks. All thanks to the man!
This week, I don’t have much to show you. But, I will show you what I have.
Oh, yes, I painted the doors black and they look amazing!!! Sorry for the poopy picture. I snapped this yesterday with my cell phone while it was raining outside. As you can see the hardware is on the door. I did that yesterday about 15 minutes before I had to pick Little Dedicated up from school. She loves her black doors and her “fancy” door knobs. I’m telling you, she will have the best room in the house.
The pretty artwork that I ordered came in and it is darling!
Here’s the breakdown of what’s left to do:
It seems like there is a lot to do on this list, but most of the items are 3/4’s of the way done.
Finish painting walls and trim (the dresser wall needs just a little bit more)
Paint both doors (1 door completed. Closet door will be finished today)
Change out hardware on doors (Closet door will be finished today)
Spray paint backplates
Change out hardware on bedside table
Hang hooks (This is happening tonight)
Change out all electrical plates (2 left)
Hang curtain rods, valance and curtains (This is happening tonight)
Hang up artwork that came in.
Hang curio cabinets to flank the bed
Finish teacup stitchwork (Not sure it this will make the cutoff date. Either way, I’ll keep working on it to show you once completed) Will finish at a later date
Make or purchase throw pillows (Going shopping Saturday)
Hang chandelier (Here’s hoping it comes in soon)
My goal is to have her room completely finished by Sunday. This will give me time to fuss and fluff and take pictures.
