Hello World! Welcome friends! We have one week down in the books on the One Room Challenge and so much to do. That was one fast week! I’m sure the weeks will fly by even faster on the Challenge. A big thank you to Linda at Calling it Home for organizing this event and getting us motivated to tackle one space in our homes!
So, here is an update of things that I’ve accomplished in Little Dedicated’s bedroom transformation.
Two walls have been completed. That’s 2 coats of primer, walls painted, and trim painted as well. We’ve had some items that came in on Tuesday, so I rushed to get the bed in it’s new position so I can give you an idea of where we are headed.
Below is what we started with!
I ordered this bedside table from Joss & Main since Little Dedicated needed a sturdier table than the round skirted table we were using. I like its height as well as it being narrow. Her room isn’t large and we have plenty of big pieces filling up the room. So, this skinny table with storage is perfect.
I plan on changing out the knobs if I can find something that I really like. I would like to have a gold backplate with a pink crystal knob. We’ll see what I can find.
The pom pom blanket and the quilt from Pottery Barn Kids came in as well.
The pom pom blanket is super soft and quite and ample size. We just need to keep it away from Cozi the cat. I think she might think these pom poms are for her.
The lamp which we’ve had for years is also from Pottery Barn Kids.
Little Dedicated wanted me to show off Boo and Plaid; her Fall friends.
I still have the window wall and the dresser wall to paint.
I did order this chandelier, but it is on back order. Hopefully, it will come in before the challenge is over.
Here’s the breakdown of what’s left to do:
Finish painting walls and trim
Paint both doors
Buy and change out hardware on doors
Buy and change out hardware on bedside table
Hang hooks
Change out all electrical plates
Hang curtain rods, valance and curtains
Hang up artwork
Hang curio cabinets to flank the bed (More on this next week)
Finish teacup stitchwork (More on this at a later date)
Make or purchase throw pillows
Hang chandelier (Here’s hoping it comes in soon)
Next week, I really want to be able to show you the entire room painted! But, I do have some hardware shopping to do and I need to get on that as well!
Thanks for following along, everyone!! You’ll want to check all the design bloggers’ progress as well as all of the guest participants this week.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a beautiful day/night depending on where you are in the world! Go with God and remember to be kind to one another!

This beautiful, love all your are accomplishing. What a lucky little one to be getting such a lovely room. The chandelier can grow with her too. Try Van Dykes online they have a large selection of glass knobs and back plates.

Kathryn, I love what you’ve done already! Seeing the list of everything that still needs to get done, makes me exhausted. I have so much to do in our room, too; and at my age, I only have one speed. I really love the chandelier!

Thanks Carol! I’m excited to see your Master bedroom come together as well. We are either the smartest girls for doing the ORC or a little crazy. I haven’t decided which. LOL Have a lovely week!

Great job on that striped wall! I love that chandelier. I had to be practical and replace the ceiling light with fan for my girl’s room, but I have always loved a chandelier in a little girl’s room! This room is going to be so sweet!

Well, here I am looking through party photos at the Vintage Charm Party and I immediately recognize your daughter’s bedroom challenge. It looks like you’ve made amazing progress. It’s certainly a bright, cheery improvement. What a great idea for this room. I’ll watch your future efforts with interest and enthusiasm.

If you had never gotten any further than this, it would be a real winner anyway. really going the right direction in my opinion. Had to come back and start at the start to see the progress.
