Hello World! How is your weekend going so far? Today, I wanted to pop in and share you the progress that I’ve made on the Playroom. If you remember, the goal for now is just to get all of the upstairs rooms and ceilings painted. It took some time, but the playroom walls, trim, and the ceiling have been painted.
Here is one side of the room. Let’s take a look at where we began.
Almond trim, gold walls and gold ceiling. I should invest in Kilz Primer. I definitely used enough of it.
All paint colors are Benjamin Moore.
For the walls, Benjamin Moore Pebble Beach 1597 in Eggshell.
For the trim, Benjamin Moore White Opulence OC 69 in Semi-Gloss.
For the ceiling, Benjamin Moore Ceiling White.
The cubby straight ahead in the photograph is to the right of the door from the hall. I decided to go with the Martha Stewart 9 Cube Organizer 36in x 36in. Mr. Dedicated picked them up at Home Depot for me. I took the picture before we put a small tv and dvd player on top of this cubby. This cubby is dedicated to holding dvd’s and some of her books. She has another bookshelf in her bedroom that holds the majority of her books. I’m so thankful that she likes to read.
It’s perfect for when she wants a little quiet time to herself. She can pop in one of her favorite movies or pull a book out and snuggle up on the floor. The closet is to the left. I haven’t cleaned out and organized this closet yet. The plan is to move her really large stuffed animals that she likes to cuddle with into this closet. I would like to put my old toy chest into the closet and use it for her favorite blanket storage.
This little area houses her Barbie townhouse and American Girl Doll Bakery. It sits next to her Pottery Barn Table and Chairs that we picked up years ago. The table and chairs have held up very well.
These are 4 of the Martha Stewart 9 Cube Organizers stacked and attached to the wall. Little Dedicated has a ton of stuffed animals. The canvas boxes were picked up at Target.
Here’s a tip for organizing American Girl Doll clothing. I purchased a few 7-11 inch curtain rods from Target and turned them sideways so the American Girl Doll hangers would fit perfectly. So, instead of digging through a box of doll clothes, Little Dedicated can just select them from the “doll closet”.
One of the canvas boxes houses some American Doll accessories. The bottom cubby holds her craft supplies.
There is still more to do. Below is the list.
Replace fan and light fixture
Install Plantation shutters
Hang curtains
Paint closet walls and shelving
Paint closet door and hall door
Replace door hardware
Install a chair rail and molding
Install crown molding under the ceiling
Install hardwood floors
Purchase rug
Hang wall art
The room is so much more lighter and brighter with the new paint on the walls and ceiling. Next up, I have the office to show you as well as more recipes. The current project is painting Little Dedicated’s bedroom which is taking a while. Number one, I’m painting stripes above the chair rail and number two, I spend too much time in the pool. LOL

Love the idea of using rods to make closets for the hanging doll clothes. Great idea that I will be sharing with my daughter for her 3 year old doll-obsessed daughter. Aren’t you glad all that gold is gone?

Thank you so much for stopping by! The little curtain rods have really saved me a lot of time helping Little Dedicated straighten up her playroom. She loves hanging up her doll clothes. Now, if I could get her to hang up her own clothes without prodding. LOL Happy 4th tomorrow!
