Hello World! Welcome Friends! There is a little known fact about me that you may not be aware of. I love to cross stitch! There is nothing more relaxing than to sit down and stitch away. However, I haven’t had time to do much stitching, but it is on my list get back to it, pronto! It is one of the most satisfying hobbies I have. I love seeing my work come to life one stitch at a time.
Using embroidery work in decor is nothing new. In fact, a properly placed embroidery within a gallery can be quite stunning. In fact, I have plans to decorate my office with some of my stitch work that I have worked on in the past. I’ve been looking around at patterns that I think will coordinate well with the design theme I have in mind.
There are so many patterns to choose from. From gardens, houses, fairies, sports, to baby and children patterns; there’s something for everyone. Stitch work is perfect as a gift when you want to give a personalized gift. I cannot tell you how many baby showers I have been to where the mother to be received a gift that was embroidered.
While perusing embroidery scissors and supplies online to make sure I have everything I need to get started on my projects, Little Dedicated of course had to weigh in with one of her favorites that she wants me to stitch for her room. She thinks the pretty lady below would be perfect with her decor.
I have to say, I quite agree. Embroidery is not something that is a quick project. In fact, a detailed pattern can take quite some time. However, I find the more intricate the pattern, the more satisfying the journey.
So, tell me if you are a lover of embroidery or stitch work. I would love to hear if I have some kindred spirits out there among The Dedicated House readers.

I love to cross stitch as well. I would finish a project every summer when school was out…I am a teacher. It is so hard now with a little one to find the time and I always feel guilty that I should be doing something more “productive”. I think I am going to find a way to fit a little time in my day dedicated to needlework.
