Android App for The Dedicated House
Hello World! Yes, you read that right! The Dedicated House has its very own app for Android users! Eeek!
The above is my landing page, which then cycles through fun places to tour.
So, you may be asking, how the heck I got an app? Well, I’ll tell you.
The great folks at I’m in Marketer contacted me and asked if I might be interested in having an app developed for The Dedicated House. After months of meetings via the web and a ton of questions by yours truly, The Dedicated House has it’s very own app.
The main question I had was, will this affect my page views? And, the answer is NO! Once an android user downloads The Dedicated House app, the app acts just like an RSS feed.
As you can see, it has all of my blog posts listed with the most recent post at the top of the list. Below is a screenshot of the Start Planner post so you can see how it looks on a phone.
How amazing is this?!?! Seriously, it is so pretty!
It’s super easy to navigate as well using the hamburger menu option – the 3 stacked lines.
Would you want an app for your blog? There is really no extra work involved other than the initial design with the designer at I’m in Marketer. The world we live in is on the go and our phones have become very important to us. I cannot remember the last time I went somewhere without my phone in my purse or hand.
The app can also push to outside websites, like my Mary & Martha site or any of my Sharesale sites.
How do you find it? Remember this is for android users. So, you will need to use Google Play.
On your phone when you go to Play Store, type in The Dedicated House in the search field. Below is a shot of what is will look like on Google Play. It’s free, so go ahead and choose to download it to your android phone.
Or, if you have a QR Code Reader on your phone, open it and point your phone towards the QR Code below. It might give you the option to open the link in Google Play Store or via Internet (depending on your settings). Choose Play Store and The Dedicated House app will open right up and then you can download it. FYI the QR Code Reader apps are usually free…in case you are interested.
The above is a screenshot of the landing page after you’ve scanned the QR Code and opened it up via Play Store. Next, choose install. This of course is on my phone, so it’s already installed and ready to open.
I want to make it easy for all of my readers to never miss a post and this is another great option to make sure you stay up to date with the shenanigans going on at The Dedicated House!

How cool! I am not sure about an app, but I will think about it. Keep us posted about your opinion of how things work out. Sheila

This is very interesting, Kathryn. Do you happen to know how much storage the apps use? Some take up so much space and mine is limited 😉 Thanks for sharing!

Well that is super neat Kathryn! Thanks for sharing at HSH!
