Hi Kathryn! You did a great job on your post about Galveston! Did you know we lived there for 18 years? We moved away last August to upstate New York to be close to our grandbabies. We were there when Ike hit. We didn't stay though and we were so fortunate to have not gotten any damage at our house but some of our friends lost every thing they had it was so terrible. The Galvez is just gorgeous, isn't it? There are so many beautiful old homes on the island and each spring for almost every year that we lived there we attended the Historic Home Tour! Loved it!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉

Hotel Galvez looks wonderful. Thanks for the background info on the city. I'm amazed that the Letitia Rosenberg Home for Aged Women withstood several bouts with nature. Ann Marie at Iris Abbey http://www.irisabbey.com

You are very welcome, Ann Marie. Those homes that survived the major storms and flooding were built so well. Quite amazing really. Have a lovely day! Toodles, Kathryn

I love it too, Maria! I could spend days in Galveston touring the old mansions, shopping on the Strand, and walking along the beach. I think I might need to see if I can't squeeze one more day down there before school starts. Happy day to you. Toodles, Kathryn
