Let me show you the space that is in desperate need of help in the way of seating. As all of my readers know, I’ve been on a major push to get our entire house painted. I haven’t really decorated any rooms in our new to us Colonial. But, when a girl gets tired of painting ceilings and walls, a girl can dream, right? And, the best way to dream is online, searching out looks and creating decor boards.
This space is directly across from the entertainment center with freshly painted walls waiting for some decor.
As you enter the front door, the family room is to the right. Nothing is really styled in the house. I did however put out a few things so that it doesn’t look too bare.
The Hearth room is just beyond the family room. Wouldn’t a loveseat be perfect in this little corner?
The area measures 78″ which could handle a loveseat, small table and a couple of floor lamps to add some lighting. There is no overhead lighting in this room, so adding lighting is essential. Oh, and an ottoman is essential for me! This is my spot to sit when we watch movies and I like to put my feet up. Currently, I use a beat up blue storage cube that you will never see in pictures again, because it is just too hideous! Add in some pillows and a throw and we’ve got a nice little seating area.
Here are some options I designed for the space.
Look 1
Look 1 – The Classic Look
Elizabeth Loveseat
Kenmore Gold Side Table
Madeleine Floor Lamp
Boyd Tufted Ottoman
Dolbeau Pillow
Pale Blue Throw
Look 2
Look 2 – Playing with Color Look
Cidney Loveseat
Beatrice Side Table
Winchester Floor Lamp
Jonash Storage Ottoman
Maven Pillow
Cashmere Pink Throw

Kathryn, I like the blue love seat the best but the accessories in Look #1 are more my style. Good luck with your choices. It's fun to dream on OKL.

Kathryn – Of course it would depend on the color of the walls but I think right now my choice would be number 2. I love the deep blue color and the accessories you have chosen. I think it would be so much fun to be a part of one of these challenge's and you have done a great job! Have a wonderful week!

Both are beautiful, but I'd choose Look 1. Neutral colors allow for more flexibility to change things up a bit seasonally or just when the mood suits. Can't wait to see the final look.

Well, this post has captured my attention…I've been going back and forth…option 1 or option 2…I love them both. I think if I had to pick a favorite though, it would be #2. I just love the pops of color. Have fun decorating!

I love look #1 (and One Kings Lane too!). I think it would look great with your blue and white lamps (love them!). Plus the loveseat would be a great foot of the bed piece if you ever wanted to move it.
