Hello World! Well, I know what you must be thinking. Another paint update? Did I change my mind yet again? In answer to your questions, yes, I did change my mind about the paint color.
Below is the latest color:
Sorry for the poor quality. I snapped this with my phone. The color on the left is the new color.
Benjamin Moore
Brandy Cream
The previous color was Benjamin Moore Alphano Beige. Alphano Beige is the color on the right in the picture above. While I do like it, I noticed that at certain times of day depending on the natural light, it looked a little rosy.
The color before Alphano Beige was Benjamin Moore Lennox Tan.
Since living with three different colors on the walls for about a week, I can really tell which one would help to lighten up the space. The family room gets some natural light, but not like I’m used to. At the other house, I had natural light pouring in. Not so in this house. So, I’ve decided I will need to go much lighter in paint choice in order to achieve a brighter look.
Looking through the doorway you can see the original color the previous owner had on the walls almost throughout the downstairs. It has a lot of gold tones to it and at certain times of day looks like the results of an upset tummy…if you catch my drift. This will definitely be changing.
Alright, enough of the paint saga. Let’s get to the announcement of the giveaway!
The winner is Kathy Chapman! Congratulations Kathy. Look for an email from me: thededicatedhouse@gmail.com

I think you made a good choice. It can be so hard to choose a paint color. My daughter helps me choose, she has a good eye for color.

Loving your choice. Definitely fresher and no pepto. 🙂

After having done the same thing multiple times, I finally started painting my color choices on poster board and hanging them up in the room, moving them around to see what different light intensities would do to the color. I liked grays but sometimes I thought they looked cold. I found a great "greige" that is perfect with either browns or grays, Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore. It took forever to find it, but I love it. Not a color I have seen around on the blogs but definitely worth a consideration unless you want only browns in your tan.
