Hello World! As promised, here are a ton of pictures of our family room. I have rearranged the furniture at least four times to try to get a good flow between the family room and the hearth room. We have now hit upon the arrangement that works for us. So, with some furniture ordered for the family room, I thought I would show you what it currently looks like. Also, before the furniture gets here I will paint the room so that I can at least say that one thing is done off of my list. LOL. Get ready for a ton of pictures.
This shot was taken standing in the hearth room looking into the family room. The two windows are on the front of the house. Below is a shot of our previous family room so you can get an idea of how the scale is different.
Both couches easily fit in this room. And, of course, the high ceiling gives a spacious effect. Back to the Colonial.
Only one couch fits comfortably in this room. The entertainment console is straight ahead. Here is a look at the entertainment center we ordered this past weekend. Once the new furniture comes in, the current console will head upstairs to the Master Bedroom.
This is the EOS system from Bassett Furniture. It will fit nicely on the wall and give us some much needed storage for all of our media equipment.
Moving around the room, this is the Martin Console Chest from Ballard Designs. Through the doorway you can get a glimpse of the hearth room.
Coming full circle is the other side of the room with the entryway just beyond. Eventually, the gold chair will be recovered and moved upstairs. I’ve got my eyes on a pair of chairs that would do well in the family room. So, of course more change.
Here is the same space on Christmas morning with Little Dedicated playing some Christmas carols on the piano. You can see that I have flipped everything. Moving furniture from the hearth room to the family room and vice versa.
So here are some detail pics of the decor.
Some of my favorite books.
This was my old toy chest that has been a great stand in for a coffee table for many years.
Home Goods plates and a little lantern I’ve had for years.
Here is the coffee table we have ordered, also from Bassett Furniture. Once this one arrives, my little toy chest will then go upstairs.
Little Dedicated went though my pillow stash and pulled this one out telling me her little rocking chair needed a pillow. That child is so cute.
I still love my FeatherHen pillow.
I hope you enjoyed taking a look at our family room. Below is my list of projects for this particular room:
1. Paint room Lennox Tan from Benjamin Moore because I dislike how the current color looks yellow depending on the time of day and how the natural light is hitting it.
2. Hang pictures.
3. Organize and style entertainment center and coffee table when they come in.
4. Purchase two chairs that are on my wish list.
5. Find and purchase two small ottomans that could possibly store throws.
6. Purchase two tables, maybe something like this from Ballard Designs.
7. Purchase a hutch to replace the sideboard.
8. Purchase a rug.
9. Hang curtains.
Goodness, that’s just one room. Remember the five ceilings upstairs that need to be painted? Well, I’m still working on those. I’ll tell you what I tell myself, just settle in because this is going to be a long ride getting this house to the way I want it. Don’t even get me started on the outside landscaping. LOL.
Thank you for sticking with me and being so patient about seeing the inside of the Colonial. I love you for it. Alrighty, off I go. Have a beautiful day and remember to be kind to one another! Joy to the Full!
Toodles,

Yes, the room is big enough for another couch.
