Here is the front of the house. The hedges were kept nice and trim by Mr. Dedicated. Since the porch is not huge, I put out a potted plant and a wreath to welcome guests.
I cried when I left Parkcross Place on Saturday night for the last time. I know it is just a house, but it was our home for seven years. A place where we became a family. I am so grateful to God for finding Parkcross Place for us. He has been so faithful to us all the time! What a wonderful and sweet God we serve. Now, He has gone and found us another place that we will call home shortly. I didn’t know I wanted a Colonial until I drove up to this property. But, God knew. How I am going to love setting up house.
Okay, I’ve already cried a couple of times writing this post. Time to dry my tears, wash my face and get busy planning.
Little Dedicated has her big dance recital on Saturday. And, Mr. Dedicated decided we needed to have a date on Sunday. He surprised me with tickets to Houston Ballet’s Swan Lake for Sunday. After the ballet, we will swing by and pick up Little Dedicated and head down to Galveston for a couple of days of fun in the sun. Don’t worry, this white girl with red hair will still be a white girl after our couple of days in the sun. Schlitterbahn here we come.
Thanks for popping in for what turned out to be a super long post. Goodness me!

Congrats on selling your house. I understand the sadness but it is good to move on. I am blown away by how many offers in got in such a small time frame (not that your house isn’t wonderful, houses just don’t sell that fast where I live).

Kathryn, I loved your former home, but I really loved your new one the second I saw the photo. I love it and it is refreshing to see a colonial in the Houston area. We lived in Kingwood/Houston during the years our son was in school. When he graduated and was off to college we moved to our current home in Tennessee. He came home for the holidays and no friends here..the first year. Over the years, this home has shared much joy for all of us including our daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. I was so relieved, when we actually had holiday meals in our own home with loads of family members and friends all here. Joy comes in the realization that LOVE is what makes a house a home. Wishing you no more tears other than tears of joy for what was and what you're looking forward to. Yes, passing our home in Kingwood is like a flashback to that special time. Then we got our dream to live on a mountain top, but there is joy in remembering the old days. Best wishes and dry eyes,
Hugs,
Helen

Hi Kathryn! Did you know that I live in Galveston? Well, we're off traveling at the moment or we could meet for a glass of tea! I loved your old house but your new one is so pretty. It looks so much like the one we just sold in Galveston – red brick Colonial with columns, we lived in that house almost 20 years! I know you'll put your special touch to it. God is good and I'm praying He'll direct us to 'the one' in New York so we can be close to our grandbabies.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉

Hi Kathryn! Since I'm new to your blog, I've been looking through some of your past posts like this one and WOW! Your previous house is beautiful!! It's no wonder it sold so quickly. I didn't realize you were in Texas too. We're close to the Houston area as well. Don't you just love the humidity??? Lol!
