Hello World! Welcome Friends! Happy Weekend! I’m so happy you stopped in for a little visit. Picked this little lovely up at, you guessed it, Goodwill. Not quite sure how to use her. So, just winging it. Here she is after I painted her.
It’s a box with a mirror. Kind of cute. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White followed by clear wax. To add some pretty, I cute some flowers from our garden.
The mirror is a little beat up, but I like it. Gives her a little bit of character.
I didn’t even know my husband had this lantern until a couple of months back. And, he has two of them! I’m so snagging them. The little table usually sits in the entryway with a plant on her. And, no, I do not keep a bowl full of apples by the back door. Just thought it would make a pretty picture. Aren’t they pretty?

Cute makeover. Looks darling by the door there. I would be stealing those lanternes too 😉 Love the flowers. Nothing like that here in Oregon. So tropical!

Love it! I think it makes a great little perch for a small fresh flower arrangement! So cheerful. 🙂

That turned out sooo cute and so did your finials. Love shopping at GW and finding things to make- over. Also love the sun peeking above the door =)

Very nice bit of work on that cute little mirror!

What a creative way to decorate a candle holder! I love it. We have something similar but we have boring old candles in it:) Maybe I will get some fresh flowers and follow your example instead:) God bless x
Heaven's Walk says
Adorable candleholder! Isn't ASCP the greatest? I think a bowl of apples by the door is a great way of grabbing a snack on your way out. 🙂 Camille must keep you on your toes, huh? lol!

You really made it a nice cheerful piece.
Janet says
Very nice job on the mirrored box. As you have it by the door it would be a great place for keys, etc. All your pictures were lovely, including the cat and dragonfly-thanks for making it pre-torture, LOL.
Nita {ModVintageLife} says
Very cute candle holder. The paint completely transformed it. Loved the cat story. Just something you have to live with if you have pets. I used to have a dog that brought grasshoppers and crickets to my bed. And this past summer my Violet ate many locusts. One of my dogs ate a baby bird in one gulp. Just how it is when you share your life with animals. But it's worth it..isn't it?
Tatum @ Many Moments Of Me says
Very cute! Love the white that you used and those flowers just pop against it! Very cheerful!

What a cute little thing, I love how you painted it and how you are using it. Great!
Your cat is adorable, I love cats, they are hunters by nature and they can't help but gross us out from time to time.
Hugs, Cindy

How super cute! You found just the right spot for it too! Thanx for coming to party. Hope your week is going well!
Liz @ the Brambleberry Cottage says
Your little backdoor vignette is so inviting and cheery. You could also add some hooks for keys…since it's so close to the door.
Cats are wonderful creatures…EXCEPT for their "torturing" habits. Ours is forever bringing cute little field mice on the front porch to torture ME, as I witness him torture them! I'm constantly trying to rescue HIS prey!
Thanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday, Kathryn. Your projects are always inspiring. 😉

Looks great, yes a candle would look good too!
I am sure with Xmas coming you will find just the item! Love cats, cute kitty! Apples look good, yum!
Suzy www.savedbysuzy.blogspot.com says
I think a candle would look so pretty in there with the light reflecting off the mirror. As for your cat, I was attending my baby shower at friend's house when her cat brought in a live snake. I am terrified of snakes so I ran to my car and sped away from my baby shower as fast as I could! I will never forget that day! I'm just glad the fright didn't put me in labor!

Love what you did with it! I have a few similar pieces from GW that I just couldn't pass up and this has inspired me to get creative!

Oh, my 1975 called and wants to know why you painted a perfectly good piece of wood. Memories – I think that might have been mine. We didn't paint anything then. I have an antique record (for 78s) that was chippy green when I found it in my parents garage. In 1977 I striped and sanded it to bring it back to the original wood. And now, It is painted blue, yellow and red and will soon be ASCP Old White.
Your little shelf and the flowers are lovely.
