Hello World! Welcome Friends! In the summer, no one likes to be stuck in the house all day, but sometimes it can be wonderful to sit in your conservatory space and enjoy the heat without being directly under the sun. If you have a conservatory in your garden you will know that it can be an incredibly useful part of the house, and here are some of the things you can do to decorate it and make it feel like a huge part of the home this summer.
Keep it cool
If you have a conservatory which is right outside the house and has floor to ceiling glass, you will know that it can get pretty hot during those summer days. To keep the space cool during the summer days you can put exterior rated ceiling fans in the ceiling and this will allow you to feel a lovely breeze as you sit out with your cup of tea or glass of wine.
Relaxing seats
If you plan on spending quite a lot of time in your conservatory during the summer, you will want to bring in some comfy seating which you can relax in for hours on a warm day. Think about buying yourself some luxury fabric chairs which will allow you to sink right in and feel as if you are having a great big hug. Seating is important so take some time choosing this and also think about spending a decent amount on them.
Homey touches
To make your conservatory feel like an extension of your family home, you will want to make sure that you can add in some homey touches. Small touches can make a big difference to the overall feel of your home and this will allow you to make guests feel welcomed as soon as they enter. You can add things like brightly colored cushions, candles, cute plants or vases and some photographs. Having color and character in your space can make a big difference and make it feel like you are in someone’s home rather than a showroom.
Bring the outdoors in
The conservatory is the closest connection that you have between the house and garden, and it is the perfect part of the house to add houseplants and let them thrive in the warmth of your conservatory. Think about bringing in a large plant such as an Acer which can bring some stunning Japanese charm into the space right away. You can also add a vase of flowers in the middle of the table and add some colorful plants such as a peace lily or a rose. Have some fun with the way you add in plants and you can even make one corner of the space into a herb garden to use in your kitchen!
Modern furniture
If you want to make your conservatory look a bit different from most conservatories out there, you can bring some more modern furniture into your space and use this to bring your space to life. Think about legged seats, a marble table and some driftwood shelves. Add a touch of minimalist and contemporary style to the space and it will feel much more spacious for anyone who comes to visit. You can also make sure that the floor is a light color such as light grey or even white to maximize the feeling of space.
Keep it light
Light is an incredibly important thing to have all over your home, and your conservatory space should be the lightest part of the house. If you currently have curtains or anything chunky covering your windows, swap them out for lightweight blinds which can be completely moved way when you are sitting out in the space. To add extra light and life to the area you can hang a mirror on the wall and let the light reflect through your space.
Centerpieces
If you have a table in the conservatory, you will be able to put a centerpiece in the middle to add some design and some homeliness to the space. You can place a family photo album on there for people to flick through when they visit, you could add a vase of flowers or a candle for people to light when it goes dark, and you can even bring a bottle of wine to the table which people can enjoy when it goes dark. Anything you can add to that space can be wonderful when people come to see your home.
A taste of the tropics
When you live in the USA, it isn’t always the best weather to be sitting outside in the sun. However, you can bring a taste of Hawaii into your conservatory and this will allow you to feel as if you are sipping cocktails on the beach all year round! You can think about bringing in some flower garlands, plants, lights and some fun features like flamingos and cacti. Adding a taste of bright color and some fun beach features will make you feel as if you are in the sun on holiday all year long!
Make it magical
The idea behind having a conservatory is that you are able to enjoy the sun setting at the end of the day and then you can sit underneath the stars and stay warm. When the sun goes down, you can create a magical atmosphere in your conservatory by having solar powered lights hung up near the ceiling which you can have twinkling away as you sip on a glass of wine. You can also think about installing a skylight which you can open up at night to allow you to look up at the stars as you sit with the person you love. Remember to light a few candles around the space and bring out the blanket so that you can enjoy talking to each other while staying warm underneath the summer sky. It will feel like you are in a foreign land and you will have this amazing sense of magic and calm.

I love the first picture and the pool, our sun room has had a leaky roof and storms have left it hard to enjoy, perhaps the fall when it’s repaired. And I like less clutter. Collections need cabinets. Visiting from Trekking Thru.
