Hello World! Welcome Friends! Welcome to Part One of my Christmas Home Tour today! I am so happy to be sharing our Breakfast Nook and Family Room as part of the Cozy at Christmas Home Tour hosted by Katie of Let’s Add Sprinkles. If you are visiting from Monica Wants It, welcome!
If you’re a new reader, let me take a moment to introduce myself. I’m a wife and mom of one feisty 10 year old girl! I’m a former Opera singer and still teach voice lessons to a select few. Being a Southern girl at heart, I love anything traditional. I adore color and mixing patterns and have a deep desire to paint every wall in my house! And, I LOVE Christmas which is extremely obvious by the amount of trees, garland and glitter that can be found in my home at this time of year! After all, we are celebrating the King of King…so, no restraint here.
This is our first Christmas in our new to us house and I have been extremely excited about decorating for the holidays!
The Family Room tree is the tree where we place all of the ornaments Little Dedicated has made as well as all of the ornaments that hold sentimental value. The main colors are the traditional red and green with a little bit of white thrown in.
Ginger the Elf has a new resting place every day. You never know where she will land.
I do like to add gold ornaments around the room to tie in with the gold in the Breakfast Nook.
The stockings were made by my Mom years ago. Greg thinks he’s special because she put bells on his stocking. LOL
The window above the mantel along with the Christmas lights on the mantel made it difficult to take pictures. I turned off the mantel Christmas lights because there was too much light.
I used two different ribbons on this tree. I find it easier to manipulate the ribbon when I cut them in 3′ strips or sometimes smaller. I stick the end of the ribbon inside the tree, then tuft it out and back in again. Each ribbon strip is placed going in a different direction.
Using ribbon is a great way to fill a tree.
I set the table with Spode’s Christmas Tree.
I hope you enjoyed seeing Part 1 of our Christmas Tour. Part 2 will go live on the blog towards the end of next week! I hope you will pop back in for the tour!

Kathryn your home is full of so much vibrant color and beauty! It is so bright and festive just perfect for the holidays. Merry Christmas to you.
Thank you, sweet Mary!! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Kathryn,
Everything is beautiful, as always. I always love seeing your stenciled wall whatever the season. I popped over to revisit your 2016 blue, white, gold ornament staircase garland post once again. You said it may be the last year for the garland. New houses give new opportunities to change things up, but I always enjoy seeing how you use blue in your decor.
Merry Christmas,
Judith
Thank you so much, Judith! The garland this year has been a challenge since I have so much banister now. But, I can say that the blue is back!! Happy Christmas to you!
It all looks pretty and festive. You have been a busy lady! Thanks for sharing with us. I’ll be back for the next one. Happy Holidays!
Thank you, sweet Sarah! Merry Christmas to you!!
Oh, my! Your house is always gorgeous, but you Christmas decor takes it to an entirely new level.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!

Very beautiful Christmas home! I didn’t put out as much this year as usual, but looking at your post makes me want to finish putting things out! Have a beautiful week!
Thank you so much, Mitzi!! Hope you have a lovely Holiday Season!
Wow, seeing all the stunning reds and golds…..now I want to take everything down and go buy more red red red. It looks wonderful!
Thanks so much, Christine! It was a lot of fun to do! Have a Happy Holiday Season!
Wow! You tree is stunning! I love all the household decorations but that tree is truly magnificent!
Awe, thank you so much, Joanne! Have a lovely Holiday Season!
Kathryn, your tree is stunning! I’m a traditional red & green girl too, and that tree speaks to me so! Love how you did your ribbons. I use ribbon also, but used longer strands. Maybe it would be easier to use smaller lengths. Mine seemed easier last year for some reason. Your home looks beautiful. I still can’t get over you doing the ORC up against the holidays. Cray cray!
Awe, thank you so much, Rita! Last year I had such a time with the ribbon that I decided to shorten it this year to see if I could get it to look right. It seemed to work on this tree. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look! Merry Christmas!
So festive! I love all your Christmas knick knacks. The penguin box set is cute
Thank you so much, Alicia!
I love the name of your site: dedicated – a great reminder what it’s all for – God loves a beautiful home, of that I’m sure. And He’s honored by your talent. And I love ribbon on a tree and my copycat Spode dishes that we use daily in Dec. Even for toast! Blessings!
Thank you so much, Sue! The name of my site was given to me by God. I went to bed asking Him what He would like me to name the site back in 2011. When I awoke the next morning, The Dedicated House was my first thought. So, there it was! He is so faithful!! Merry Christmas and thank you for stopping by!
I love that story!
Wow, what a tree! Beautifully decorated home #bloggerbest

Thanks so much, Julie! Happy Holiday Season!
It would probably take me all of 2018 to bring out all these items from storage and display them so beautifully – you have created such a warm and elegant environment effortlessly. Thanks for the tip about the ribbon – I would never have thought to cut them!
Awe, thank you so much! Have a Happy Holiday Season!
Thanks for linking up.
Hope you are having a Merry Christmas season.
You house is so beautifully decked out for the holidays! If only our tree were that perfectly decorated. We’re still in the ‘handmade paper ornaments on the bottom third and all the delicate ornaments at least waist-high’ stage with our kids.
Thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
Your home is beautifully decorated – perfect for a magazine! I too have Spode’s Christmas Tree – I have the old fashioned coffee mugs and need to get the ones you have. Thanks for sharing with Fiesta Friday!
